HVAC – An Overview

Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) are basically the science of vehicular and indoor environmental control. It’s goal is to deliver acceptable indoor air quality and thermal comfort for those who spend a considerable portion of their time inside the house. While most people don’t realize it, HVAC is one of the major contributors to indoor air pollution. Indoor air pollution occurs when contaminants such as pollen, mold, molds, dust, and bacteria are breathed in on a regular basis and remain in the air.

The Number One Reason You Should (Do) Hvac

HVAC, like natural ventilation, is the process by which conditioned air flows throughout the home. But unlike natural ventilation which comes from windows and doors, HVAC systems can’t be opened and closed like they can in doors and windows. Instead, they must be operated through the use of mechanical ventilation, a system that removes pollutants through specialized vents, or by utilizing fans, as in the case of window and door systems. Mechanical ventilation allows HVAC to both remove pollutants from the indoor environment, as well as regulate the temperature and humidity of the air inside the house.

In order to understand what HVAC is and how it works, it helps to have a basic understanding of the three main HVAC systems: Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC). Heating refers to warming or cooling the air through heating methods, ventilation refers to the flow of air throughout HVAC systems using pumps, while air conditioning uses cooling techniques, such as refrigeration. These three techniques can be combined in numerous ways to create an HVAC system that’s efficient, reliable, and comfortable. Natural ventilation comes from windows and doors, while mechanical ventilation comes from vents in HVAC equipment and fans. Lastly, a proper mixture of these techniques is used in order to provide the most comfortable environment possible for the occupants of the house.
